Medical Assisting Certificate Program
General Program Information
 
The Medical Assisting Program consists of three semesters. Students will progress through the program as a cohort from the first through third semester.
 


 
 
Face-to-Face Program: For the first two semesters, students will attend class Monday - Thursday for 4.5 hours per day. The third semester includes an online course (ALH 107) and a clinical experience externship (ALH 90). The externship will be Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5pm for approximately 5 weeks for a total of 180 hours.
Hybrid Program (online with face-to-face lab): For the first two semesters, students complete the theory portion of class online and meet two days a week for lab. The third semester includes an online course (ALH 107) and a clinical experience externship (ALH 90). The externship will be Monday – Friday, 8 am to 5pm for approximately 5 weeks for a total of 180 hours.
Students are not paid during externship and should begin budgeting for the externship as soon as possible.
