Dietary Services Supervisor

Program Course Requirements

The Dietary Services Supervisor (DSS) program is designed to prepare studens to work in a supervisory role in the food and nutrition services area of healthcare facilities.   Graduates of the Shasta College DSS program are eligible to apply for a DSS Certificate from the California Public Health Department.  Once a certificate has been obtained, the graduate is entitled to use the title of Dietary Services Supervisor, as descripted in CA State Law, Title 22.

The DSS 94 Externship consists of 150 hours with a Registered Dietician at a healthcare facility.
