Welcome to the Health Sciences Division
For over 60 years, Shasta College has
provided four major healthcare programs to Shasta County and the surrounding North State communities. Over the years, our faculty and staff have diligently worked to build a positive
rapport with local hospitals and health care agencies. The Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN)
program; established in 1965, Vocational Nursing (VN) program; established in
1953, and Nurse Aide/Home Health Aide (NA/HHA) program; established in 1964 all
have proven outpouring of quality nurses because of the height of expectations
from the faculty and staff members in the department.
Since 2007, Shasta College's Health Sciences Division has offered a variety of educational career training opportunities in our new, state of the art Downtown Health Sciences Building. The programs we offer include, but are not limited to, a 2-year Associate Degree of Science Dental Hygiene program; a 2-year Associate Degree of Science Nursing program; a three-semester Vocational Nursing program; and a one-semester Nurse Aide/Home Health Aide program.
The Health Sciences Division is also home to many of the Shasta College Community Education
classes. Some of the programs offered through Community Education include Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy, Massage Therapy, Fireline Safety, Health & Fitness, and School Bus Driving.
