Library Spaces 

The Shasta College Library houses various rooms and spaces to accommodate individual and group study, library instruction sessions,​ and college-related meetings.​You can find policies and information about room usage on these pages.

Student Lounge
 - ​With comfy furniture and cafe seating, the library's student lounge affords the perfect space to curl up with a good book or connect with friends in between classes.

The lounge will feature student artwork on a rotating basis so make sure to come check out what your fellow classmates are creating. If you are interested in showing your artwork or purchasing artwork please contact​​.

Group Study Rooms - All rooms have computers, DVD players, and large dry erase boards with markers.
  • Rooms may be reserved in advance or checked out on-the-spot at the Circulation desk. You can also call (530) 242-7550 to reserve a room in advance.
  • To reserve a room please have your library card free of any outstanding charges. 
  • Rooms are checked out for a two hour period. 
(Please mind the time as late returns will incur fines at 25¢ per hour)​.

Fireside roomThe Fireside Room - The library's Fireside Room can be reserved for student use as a study room or for staff meetings. The room is equipped with a large screen television with laptop connection, a computer, and seating for 16 people.

Reservation Policy - Reservations are scheduled on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Reservations may be made:

A tentative meeting schedule is posted by the door weekly. Reservations of the Fireside Room may be used by student study groups so long as the group consists of three or more individuals.

Library Instruction Center (LIC) - The LIC affords a wonderful venue for active learning and features 39 student work stations, an overhead projector, document scanner, and printer. When library instruction is not scheduled, the LIC serves as an open computer lab.

Library Computer Labs - ​The library's computer labs are a great place to complete and print assignments, check your e-mail, or browse the internet in between classes. The library has two labs, each with 39 computers. Computer and printer use is open to community members as well as students and faculty. 

The cost to print is .10 cents per page for black and white copies and .50 cents per page for color copies. In addition to computers and printers, the computer lab also has copiers, scanners, and a fax machine.​
