Borrowing Library Material

Get your Library card at the Circulation desk with your photo ID in order to checkout material.

Renewals

Patrons may renew materials using the Library's Online Catalog, request renewals in person, or over the telephone, (530) 242-7550.

Community and Courtesy Cards

The Shasta College Library is pleased to offer free library services to our community members. Just bring your California ID (or Simpson University ID if you are a current student there) to the Circulation Desk to receive a library card.

Community users may enjoy all the Library privileges granted Shasta College students, with the following exceptions: DVD checkouts are in-Library use only, on-campus database use only, and no interlibrary loans (see the Shasta Public Libraries for ILL request).

Tehama, Trinity, Intermountain and HSUC:

Students can have materials sent to their Distance Campus.

Click here to find out how to Request Materials.

Overdue Fines

  • Fines are charged for overdue materials so the materials may be made available to other students and faculty. Fines begin accruing one day after the due date and continue, including weekends, holidays, and semester breaks, up to the maximum fine.
  • All overdue fines must be paid before more material can be checked out.
  • All materials can be returned on time via book drops located on the east and west sides of the Main Campus Library (building 200). They are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The book drops are checked daily for returned materials.

Lost or Damaged Materials

The replacement cost as listed in the most current issue of Title Source 3 will be charged for lost or damaged materials. If the item is out of print, the average price for the current year will be charged. A $5.00 non-refundable processing fee will be charged. Magazine replacements cost $5.00 per title and books from the paperbacks collection cost $1.00 per title.
