Pete Giachetti - Head Track Coach

Pete Giachetti- Head Coach 

  Pete Giachetti is entering his 12th year as a Shasta College cross country and track coach. Pete started his coaching career at South San Francisco High School in 1961 as a volunteer assistant cross country coach. He received his A.A. degree from City College of San Francisco in 1964. While at CCSF, Pete competed in both cross country and track. He received his B.A. degree from San Francisco State in 1967. Pete took over the cross country and track programs at South City High, where his boys teams won five consecutive North Peninsula League Track Championships with a 59 consecutive dual meet winning streak. During his time at South City Pete started both a CIF girls track and cross country program. In 1981 he made the move to the north state where he started coaching several sports at Fall River High School. From 1981 to 1992 his girls cross county and track teams won many Shasta Cascade League and AA championships. During his stay at FRHS he guide over 15, individuals  and one team to state level competition including Shasta College standout Erin McClung. Pete was selected as the North Section Girls Honor Coach in 1991. In 1994 he went on to Burney High where he coached volleyball and track. Pete was awarded the California Community College Women’s Track Coach of the year for 2012. Pete has been married 45 years to his wife Pam and lives in Burney. Pete and Pam have two grown daughters, Gina and Lisa.

Kirk Ramage - Assistant Coach 

   Assistant Coach Kirk Ramage grew up in the Redding area, attended Shasta High School and Shasta College. While at Shasta High and Shasta College, Ramage competed in football, wrestling, and track and field. He graduated from Chico State with a Bachelor's in Physical Education and for the past 19 years, he has coached football and track and field at Shasta High School. While coaching track and field at Shasta High he sent numerous throwers to the state meet. 

   Coach Ramage has been coaching the throwers at Shasta College for nine years with great success. Twelve of his athletes have placed as individual Nor Cal Champions, eighteen as State meet placers, and three as State Champions. In 2012, he coached Jazmin Porter to three second place finishes at the State meet and three new school records. In 2010, he was the "CIF North Section Honor Coach of the Year" for his many years of success as a High School Throw Coach. 

   Ramage, and his wife Charlotte, run an independent building contracting business in the Redding area, and have two sons, Cody, who now attends UC Santa Barbara and competes in track and field, and Wyatt, an elementary school student.

Daniel Imlach- Assistant Coach 

  Currently in his fourth season with the knights, Daniel Imlach serves as Shasta College's Jumps and Vaults Coach. Imlach comes to the Knights after coaching West Valley High School to a league championship and several league titles.   

   A former Shasta College track and field athlete, Imlach became a California Community College All-American in the pole vault and won the State meet in 2005. Coach Imlach completed his track and field eligibility at Sacramento State, where he led his team to two Big Sky Championship titles. As a two-time Big Sky indoor pole vault champion and two-time outdoor champion, Imlach paved the way for a five-time All-Conference title. In 2008, Imlach received his highest honors as a Division I, All-American in pole vault by placing eighth in the championships. Imlach received his Bachelor of Arts in Social Science from Sacramento State in 2008. 

   As the current Shasta College and Sacramento State school record holder in men’s pole vault, Coach Imlach brings many years of knowledge and experience to the Knight’s track and field team. Dan is married to Jenessa Hoppe, who is Shasta College's record holder in the steeple chase. They have a daughter, Taitym.

Eric Wright - Assistant Coach  

Starting his first season as a Shasta College coach, Eric Wright is a Shasta College alumnus from Eureka Ca. He competed at Shasta College in the 2008-09 seasons as a thrower. Eric was the 2009 NorCal hammer champion under Coach Ramage’s tutelage. He then completed his college career at Chico State where he was the CCAA hammer champion and a 4 time All-CCAA thrower. While at Chico State, Eric earned a Master’s degree in Kinesiology in 2013 with focuses in coaching, strength and conditioning, and Biomechanics.
Eric will be the strength coach and assistant throws coach to Ramage.  Eric is currently a professor at Chico State in the Kinesiology Department teaching students how to be strength coaches. Eric will be using the same academic knowledge and many years of hands on experience to help the Shasta Knights be the best athletes they can be.
