Instructions for completing Step G. Drug Screening on the Part 2 - Time-Sensitive Clinical Requirement Checklist
All students enrolling in the HEOC 180 or 181 Nurse Aide/Home Health Aide courses must complete a Drug Screen and receive Clinical Clearance prior to the first class day to be eligible to participate in the course. The student must pay all costs related to drug testing and complete the testing at the program designated lab.
NOTE: Drug Screening must be completed at this designated lab and results faxed by lab to the Health Sciences office at 530-225-4780. Results will not be accepted from any other lab. Results will not be accepted directly from the student.
The location for obtaining the drug screen for the Shasta College program is:

Hours of Operation: Monday – Friday 8 AM to 5 PM
Cost: $25.00 (Must pay cash. No checks or credit/debit cards accepted)
Procedure:
- Go to designated lab above only
- Pay for drug test as requested
- No special forms required. Identify self as a Shasta College Nursing Student
- Show a picture ID to verify identity when requesting services
- Ask that results be faxed directly to Dean Wanda Spratt at 225-4780 (they will not be sent unless requested directly by student)
- Bring receipt of completed drug screen to division office (1400 Market St, Suite 8204, Redding, CA 96001) to obtain LifeScan fingerprinting authorization form
Do not obtain drug test until after you have completed registration for the class. The results of the drug screening may take up to one week to complete and be faxed to the Health Sciences office. Plan your schedule to make sure that you can complete the drug screening and still have time to complete the LiveScan criminal background check prior to the deadline established in your Enrollment Invitation letter.
