Great Ideas For Teaching Students

Great Ideas For Teaching Students (G.I.F.T.S.) is a lively and fun professional development (FLEX) workshop that provides faculty with innovative teaching tools to increase student engagement and retention. Designed by people who know us best, our own Shasta College faculty, these teaching strategies can be used and adapted to any discipline for immediate use in your classrooms.  Check it out!

G.I.F.T.S. is an approved professional development activity.  Full-time faculty can earn up to 3 hours of professional development (1 hour per workshop) for attending a workshop and part-time faculty can earn a $50 stipend per session for a maximum of 3 sessions or $150 per semester.  Presenters earn two hours of professional development (2 hours of professional development for full-time faculty and a 2 hour stipend for part-time faculty).

Consider sharing your own teaching strategy by being a presenter.  Your contribution can add to the legacy of dedicated teaching at Shasta College.
