Turnitin Logo
Turnitin is resource that measures authenticity in students' submitted work. Turnitin checks for authenticity with an Originality Checking process that compares student work against internet and database sources.

Shasta College has Turnitin fully integrated in Canvas with single sign-on at no cost to the user; you no longer need to have individual accounts. Speedgrader utilizing Croc-a-Doc technology makes grading in Canvas a breeze!

Screencast/Lecture Capture/Video

CCC Confer Logo Confer Zoom allows for free online web-conferencing for California Community College faculty, staff, and students. Sign-up for your free account today (requires valid email to establish service).
Screencast-O-Matic Logo ​​Screencast-O-Matic allows you to create screen capture videos and download them to your computer, then upload video and then upload it to YouTube.​ You can download the Free version of Screencast-O-Matic; or, for a low annual subscription cost of $15, you can register the full version (right now, you can register for 3 yrs for $29). 
youtube-logo.jpg YouTube allows for the creation and hosting of videos.  There is the capability to caption and make videos accessible as well.
googleplus_logo.png Google Hangouts Hangouts lets you send messages, photos, email, and make video calls with your friends and family. Since Hangouts is available in Gmail, Google+, on your iOS or Android device, and as a Chrome extension, you can keep in touch whether you’re at home or on-the-go.

Microsoft PowerPoint allows for audio narrations and timings to enhance a web-based or self-running slide show. If you have a sound card, microphone, and speakers, you can record your Pow​erPoint presentation and capture your voice narrations, slide timings, and ink and laser pointer gestures. Applies to version 2007 and higher.​

Office Mix​ is a free add-in for PowerPoint with tools for creating and sharing assignments.  With this tool, instructors can record PowerPoint presentations, insert quiz questions, and view analytics.  Mixes can be added to Canvas assignments or you can download the extension for device usage.

Office Snip is a tool for capturing, annotating and sharing pieces of information you find.  This tool is downloaded to your computer and it will add a toolbar to the top of your monitor.

Audacity Logo Audacity allows you to create and edit MP3, WAV or AIFF sound files.
