Student Assistance Programs

DSPS

Disabled Students Programs and Services is a program for students with disabilities. This program is available to students attending either the main Shasta College campus or the extended education locations throughout the Shasta-Tehama-Trinity Joint Community College District and students enrolled in internet-based classes.

EOPS

At EOPS (Extended Opportunity Programs and Services), our goal is to help increase the enrollment, retention and transfer of students who experience language, social, economic and educational challenges. EOPS provides several services, including but not limited to, specialized counseling, book services, transportation assistance, and tutoring.

Veterans Services

Shasta College Veterans Services is located in Financial Aid Office (Bldg 100 - Room 108). We are committed to providing the best services to our veteran population which includes students who have served in the United States Armed Services and their dependents

CARE

As part of the EOPS program, CARE is designed to help single parents who are currently receiving cash aid (CalWORKS/TANF) offset their childcare, transportation and textbook expenses. These additional services assist CARE students in balancing multiple responsibilities while pursuing their college education.

TRIO-SSS

TRiO Student Support Services provides academic support and resources for eligible transfer students. Our goal is to increase college retention and graduation rates, and to assist in the transfer process from Shasta College to four year colleges and universities. Our TRiO staff is personally committed to each student's success and academic goals.

CalWORKs

CalWORKs is a federally mandated program designed to assist parents who are receiving TANF (Temporary Aid to Need Families). The goal of the program is to assist these parents in gaining employment and to achieve long-term self-sufficiency by providing education and training as a viable welfare-to-work activity.
