SERVICES 

EOPS Services are for current EOPS students who are in GOOD STANDING.  Students who are not in good standing may not be eligible for all services listed.


ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENT AWARDS

EOPS celebrates high achieving EOPS student in good standing with academic achievement certificates, an annual awards ceremony each spring, and an opportunity to earn EOPS Student of the Year scholarships for students that meet the Student of the Year criteria.

CAP & GOWN

EOPS students who earn a degree or certificate from Shasta College are eligible to receive a voucher to purchase their commencement cap and gown and an honors cord to students graduating with honors.

 
CAREER ASSESSMENTS

EOPS pays for a variety of interest and personality assessments that help students choose a major and a career.

COUNSELING

Shasta College EOPS offers its students frequent, intensive academic and career counseling, over and above the counseling services available to the general student population of the college. Highly trained academic counselors Shaunna Rossman and Haley Carter are available to EOPS students on the Redding campus. Idalia Huckman-Crye is available at the Tehama Campus.

Each counselor will assist students in creating and updating an educational plan, monitoring academic progress, providing financial aid information, assisting with transfers to four year universities, etc.

EOPS counseling appointments can be scheduled in the EOPS office in room 2005 of the cafeteria building, or by calling 530-242-7540, Monday-Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m., and Friday from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30 p.m. Tehama Campus appointments can be made directly at the Tehama Campus or by calling 530- 529-8980. 


EMERGENCY LOANS

EOPS students are eligible to apply for a one time per semester emergency loan for up to $150. Current, approved, FAFSA applications must be on record with the Shasta College financial aid office to qualify.


PRIORITY REGISTRATION

EOPS students are eligible to register for classes before the rest of the college population for the following semester eliminating waitlisted classes.


STUDENT ACADEMIC MENTORS- SAMs

EOPS employs Student Academic Mentors (SAMs)​ that can help EOPS students with study skills, organization, time management, and one-on-one tutoring.


TEXTBOOK ASSISTANCE

EOPS students are eligible for a book grant that can be used to purchase textbooks in the Shasta College bookstore.  New and continuing EOPS students may also borrow books from the EOPS Lending Library.


TRANSPORTATION ASSISTANCE

EOPS students will be provided with transportation assistance in the form of a campus parking permit and a Shasta College student ID card that can be used as a ride pass anywhere on the Redding Area Bus Authority (RABA) route system during the semester.


UNIVERSITY APPLICATION FEE WAIVER

EOPS students who are transferring to a UC or CSU campus are eligible to receive an application fee waiver when applying to university.


UNIVERSITY TOURS

Free tours to university campuses are available for EOPS students who are considering or planning to transfer to a 4 year institution​.
