EOPS Student program status

New EOPS students begin the program in GOOD STANDING.  Your status is determine at the end of each semester by how well you followed the guidelines of your Mutual Responsibility Contract (MRC) and becomes your status for the following semester. Your status determines which EOPS services you are eligible to receive. The five program statuses GOOD STANDING, ACADEMIC ALERT, PROBATION, RESTRICTION, and DISMISSAL and the EOPS services for each status are explained below.

               

            GOOD STANDING

       1.     Completed all THREE counseling contacts.

       2.     Returned your Lending Library materials by the due date.

       3.     Overall GPA is at 2.0 or higher from the previous semester.

       4.     Earned at least 10 units in the semester.

        ELIGIBLE SERVICES FOR STUDENTS IN GOOD STANDING:

  Counseling, Priority Registration, Book Grant, Lending Library, Transportation Services

               

ACADEMIC ALERT

       1.     Completed all THREE EOPS counseling contact

       2.     Returned all Lending Library material

       3.     Cumulative GPA drops below 2.0​

       4.     Dropped below 12 units without an approved Reduction of Units

       5.     Earned fewer than 10 units

        ELIGIBLE SERVICES FOR STUDENTS IN ACADEMIC ALERT:

   Counseling, Priority Registration, Book Grant, Lending Library, Transportation Services

               

PROBATION

       1.     Completed only TWO EOPS counseling contacts the previous semester

       2.     Overall GPA is less than 2.0 from the previous semester

       3.     Lending Library materials from the previous semester were turned in late

  ELIGIBLE SERVICES FOR STUDENTS ON PROBATION:

   Counseling, Reduced Book Voucher, Lending Library, Transportation Services

               

RESTRICTION

       1.     Completed ZERO or ONE EOPS counseling contact

       2.     Did not return to GOOD STANDING after PROBATION

       3.     Misuse of EOPS Book Grant

        ELIGIBLE SERVICES STUDENTS ON RESTRICTION:

        Counseling

               

DISMISSAL

       1.     Did not fulfill EOPS Mutual Responsibility Contract after previously being on restriction

       2.     Lending Library materials were not turned in from the previous semester.

       3.     Two semester of dropping below 12 units without an approved Reduction of Units

       4.     Not enrolled for classes

Once dismissed from Shasta College EOPS, you are ineligible to participate in the future.

If you have a semester status other than GOOD STANDING you must fulfill the guidelines of the Mutual Responsibility contract during that semester and return to GOOD STANDING by the following semester.
