1. When Should I apply for Admission?
International students can apply and enter Shasta College two times during the year (fall and spring). All documents for admission must be submitted by the following deadlines:
Fall semester students must complete their application by April 30th.
Spring semester students must complete their application by November 1st.
Incomplete applications will be redirected for the following semester admission consideration.
Students must pay tuition fees at the time of registration.

2. If I am a transfer student from a U.S. language school or other college in the U.S. are the application deadlines the same for me?
If you are already in the U.S. and you would like to transfer to Shasta College directly from a U.S. language school or college, the application deadline will be :
Fall Semester    June 1st
Spring Semester    December 1st

3. What requirements must meet to gain admissions?
Students must be able to read, write and speak English at a level necessary to actvely pursue a full-time academic program. English proficiency is demonstrated by taking one of the following language proficiency tests:

4. What if I do not have a TOEFL score of 500 or higher?
Students may be accepted with the following scores with the stipulations that they enroll in ESL coursework and maintain a full-time status (minimum 12 units) as per ICE regulations.  Subsequent semester placement into academic courses will be based on ESL assessment of the score:
TOEFL:  Paper based - 450 to 499; IBT - 45 to 60; CBT - 133 to 172
IELTS:  4.5
STEP Eiken:  Level 2

 5. Do you have an ESL Program?
Our ESL program is a part of the regular academic curriculum. Students needing more intensive English preparation can contact our ESL program. Go to our Shasta College web page ( and then click on English as a Second Language Program for class offerings.

6. How much does Shasta College cost for International Students?
Estimated expenses for one academic year. U.S. Dollar amounts below are approximate:

Total Estimated Cost for the 2014-2015 Academic Year$19,483.00
     Tuition and fees are paid each semester (not in an annual sum).
     All other expenses are paid separately.
     Summer Session (optional) - There are no unit requirements.
     Summer Session fees are not included in the above total.
