New Students

 
Follow these easy steps to enjoy priority enrollment
1. Apply for admission to Shasta College​​​​​

Complete a Shasta College Application for Admission. Please allow 24 hours for your application to process. You will receive a follow up e-mail with your student ID number and the next steps to prepare you for registration. please keep this e-mail for future reference. 
 
​​2. Apply for Financial Aid​
 
​​Submit the California College Promise Grant  (formerly BOG Fee Waiver)
  • ​2019-20 CCPG will cover Summer-2019, Fall-2019, and Spring-2020​
  • ​​2020-21 CCPG will cover Summer-2020, Fall-2020, and Spring-2021

​​Complete the FAFSA application - available October 1st.
    • 2019-20 FAFSA will cover Summer-2019, Fall-2019, and Spring-2020
    • 2020-21 FAFSA will cover Summer-2020, Fall-2020, and Spring-2021​

3. Request Transcripts

Arrange to have official transcripts from your high school and previous college work sent to Shasta College. You may bring unofficial transcripts to your initial counseling appointment. Please visit our Transcript Evaluation Page for additional information regarding transcripts.  


​4. Activate your MyShasta and Shasta College Portal Accounts. ​
 
Your "Welcome to Shasta College" e-mail contains instructions for activating your MyShasta and Shasta College Portal Accounts. If you are unable to locate your login credentials, please visit the following pages:

5. Complete New Student Orientation

Complete the online New Student Orientation

A supplemental orientation may be required for student participants in specialized programs such as student Athletes, EOPS, PACE, or Puente programs. please check with each program for specific information. 


6. Meet with a Counselor

Schedule an appointment with a counselor for course placement and to develop an educational plan.
  • Bring a copy of your High School & any prior college transcripts that we can best determine which courses you should enroll in. 

  • Students living in or near the Tehama, Trinity, or Intermountain areas should contact your Extended Education Campus to schedule a counseling appointment. 

  • Students who are veterans, or who are participating in EOPSPACECalWORKs or Athletics​ should work with your program area counselors to complete your educational plans. 
7. Register for Classes
 
You can view your registration date/time on MyShasta when you have completed all of the steps above. 
To register for classes, Log on to MyS​hasta, click on "students" then "search and register for classes."

Important Fee Information​

 
When you register for courses payment is due by midnight of the day you register or you may be dropped from your classes. If you are unable to pay enrollment fees in full you may qualify to set up a payment plan.**

Payments may be made:

  • In person at the Admissions & Financial Aid Office, or at any Extended Education Campus.
  • Online via MyShasta using MasterCard, Visa, Discover, or American Express.
** Payment plans can be created on My Shasta by clicking on "Nelnet Payment Plans." A $25 processing fee will be applied, and a 50% down payment is required to establish a new payment plan. If you have enough pending/awarded financial aid to cover your fees, you are not required to establish a new payment plan.
