New Students

Follow these easy steps to enjoy priority enrollment:

​Apply for admission to Shasta College

  • Complete a Shasta College Application for Admission. Please allow 24 hours for your application to process. You will receive a follow up e-mail with a student ID number and additional steps for enrollment. 

Apply for Financial Aid

  • Submit the California College Promise Grant (formerly BOG Fee Waiver)
    • 2018-19 CCPG will cover Summer-18, Fall-18 and Spring-19
    • 2019-20 CCPG will cover Summer-19, Fall-19 and Spring-20

  • Complete the FAFSA application - available October 1st.
    • 2018-19 FAFSA will cover Fall-18, Spring-19 and Summer-19
    • 2019-20 FAFSA will cover Fall-19, Spring-20 and Summer-20
    • Shasta College’s School Code: 001289.

​Request Transcripts

  • Arrange to have official transcripts from high school and previous college work sent to Shasta College. These are important for counseling and program planning. You may bring unofficial transcripts to your initial counseling appointment.

Complete New Student Orientation

​Meet with a Counselor 

  • Students who are veterans or who are participating in EOPS, PACE, CalWORKs or Athletics​ should work with program area counselors to complete their preliminary and comprehensive education plans.

  • Unless exe​mpted, all students must complete this step to maintain priority enrollment. Please CLICK HERE to review the exemption criteria.

​Register for Classes

  • You will receive your registration date/time when you have completed all of the required steps above. Upon completion of your counseling appointment, stop by the Admissions & Records Office at your local campus to confirm your registration date & time.

  • Once you have been assigned a registration date and time, you may confirm this information in MyShasta under “My Registration Dates”.

  • To complete registration, Log on to MyShasta to search and register for classes.

Important Fee Information

When you register for courses payment is due by midngiht of the day you register or you may be dropped from your classes. If you are unable to pay enrollment fees in full you may qualify to set up a payment plan.**

Payments may be made:

  • In person at the Business Office, Admissions & Records, or at any Extended Education Campus.
  • Online via MyShasta using Mastercard, Visa, Discover, or American Express.

** Payment plans can be created on My Shasta by clicking on "Nelnet Payment Plans" beneath the "Financial Information" heading. a $25 processing fee will be applied, and a 50% down payment is required to establish a new payment plan. If you have enough pending/awarded financial aid to cover your fees, you are not required to establish a new payment plan.
