What is the California College Promise Grant (CCPG)?​
 
  • The CCPG will waive the $46/per unit enrollment fee for California and AB540 coded residents who meet the financial income eligibility criteria based off of the FAFSA (Federal) or the California College Promise Grant Application (State).

  • If you are awarded the CCPG you will be responsible to pay the campus center, health fee, material fees and a parking permit. 

  • If you already paid your enrollment fees and then receive the CCPG, a refund will be processed thro​ugh the Admissions and Records Office. Call 530.242.7650 for more information. ​

 
How to apply for the CCPG​​​
 

A. Submit your FAFSA to be evaluated for ALL federal and state aid, including the California College Promise Grant at: www.fafsa.ed.gov

  • Submit your 2019-20 FAFSA for Summer-19, Fall-19 and Spring-20
  • Submit your 2018-19 FAFSA for the Summer-18, Fall-18 and Spring-19

FAFSA processing can take 1-5 business days to process. Note that your residency must be coded as an AB540 or CAR to be awarded the CCPG and you must have at least $1104 in unmet need awarded through the FAFSA. Students unmet need is calculated based off of the cost of attendance vs. the expected family contribution (EFC) determined by the FAFSA.

    • CCPG application processing will take 1-4 hours once our office receives the application
    • Students who submit their application after 4:00pm will be processed the following business day.
    • The CCPG State Eligibility Income Thresholds are as follows:

​Loss of CCPG Eligibility - Effective Fall 2016​
 
Effective Fall 2016, California Community College students receiving the CCPG must meet minimum academic and progress standards to remain eligible for the CCPG.​ 
 
Students Must:
  • Maintain a cumulative GPA of 2.00
  • Successfully complete at least 50% of all units attempted
  1. If a student is placed on "Academic" or "Progress Probation" through Admissions and Records for two consecutive primary terms, the student will lose eligibility for the CCPG.
    The student could also lose enrollment priority through Admissions and Records if the cumulative GPA falls below 2.0 for two consecutive primary terms.
  2. Students who lose CCPG eligibility will have an opportunity to regain eligibility by meeting the above listed standards or through an Admissions and Records appeal process

​CCPG Tips and Reminders
 
How will I be notified if I am awarded the CCPG? You will receive an automatic email reply regarding your eligibility. 
If you are eligible: the CCPG will be posted to your Financial Aid Award Letter.  

If I qualify for CCPG will I be eligible for EOPS? Possibly. ​If the student is eligible a CCPG "A" or "B" AND apply within EOPS' application period. There are other eligibility requirements. Read more at: EOPS Webpage.

What if I'm NOT eligible through the CCPG application?​ We recommended you submit a FAFSA. Even though you are not eligible through the CCPG application; you may be eligible through the FAFSA. Complete the FAFSA at: https://www.fafsa.gov
