​Step 1: Apply for Admission to Shasta College
Apply for Admission to Shasta College and obtain access to your MyShasta account and the
Shasta College Portal.
​​Step 2: Submit the California College Promise Grant Application
(Formerly BOG Fee Waiver)
Submit your California College Promise Grant (CCPG) application online.

Step 3: Complete your FAFSA Application​​
    • ​​​The 2019-20 FAFSA will cover the Summer-19, Fall-19, Spring-20
    • The 2020-21 FAFSA will cover the Summer-20, Fall-20, Spring-21

​​Step 4: Required Documents
  • Once the Shasta College Financial Aid Office has received your FAFSA, an email notification will be sent to you with instructions to submit any required documents. These will be used to determine your eligibility for grant funds.

  • You can view a list of your required documents via "My Financial Aid" on your MyShasta Account.
  • It is possible that no additional documentation is required to finish processing your financial aid. If this is the case, no forms will be requested on your "My Financial Aid" screen in your MyShasta account.

  • Regularly check your email and "My Financial Aid" for updated information regarding the status of your Financial Aid. 

​Step 5: Eligibility​
  • Once your processing is complete, you will be notified by email to inform you of your current eligibility for  Financial Aid. Visit "My Financial Aid"  on MyShasta to view your Award Letter.
    • The award letter will indicate what type of grant funding you are eligible to receive.
  • Check the disbursement schedule to view the dates we will disburse the grants listed on your award letter.
  • If you were determined to be ineligible, information on why you are ineligible will be posted to the "My Financial Aid" screen of your MyShasta Account.

​Step 6: Select your refund preference​

​​​Student Responsibilities / Important Information
  • All students receiving financial aid, excluding the California College Promise Grant must have their High School Diploma or its equivalent.
  • It is the responsibility of the student to stay informed of notifications sent out via email and posted on our website.
  • It is also the responsibility of the student to maintain and be aware of their Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) standing.
  • It is the students responsibility to read and understand the Return to Title IV Consumer information website at:
  • If at any point it is determined that the student is ineligible for Financial Aid, any awards will be cancelled. If a disbursement has already been processed, it is the students responsibility to repay any funds received.
  • It is also the students responsibility to notify the college if the student is attending another college and financial aid awarded at Shasta College needs to be cancelled.
  • It is the students responsibility to fill out all forms and applications accurately. If at any point there is conflicting information, it is the schools authority to request additional documents to verify the information in question. If at any point a student's eligibility changes due to inaccurate information submitted, the student will be responsible to repay any funds received based on the eligibility change​​​​
