3/8/2017: Scholarship Deadline Extended to 3/12/2017!!
Apply now for the 17/18 BOG Fee waiver if you plan on attending: Summer-17, Fall-17 and/or Spring-18. If awarded the BOG Fee Waiver, the standard $46/unit will be waived.
2/16/2017: Holiday Office Closure Reminder:
The college, including all Student Services Offices, will be closed on Friday, February 17th and Monday, February 20th in observance of the Lincoln Day and Washington Day Holidays. We will re-open Tuesday February 21st and resume regular business hours. Our office wishes everyone a great four day weekend!
2/15/2017: Homeless Youth for Priority Registration:
A student who is declared a homeless youth may be eligible to receive priority registration. A homeless youth is an individual under the age of 25 who has lacked a fixed, regular, and adequate nighttime residence. The student must be verified as homeless at any time during the 24 months immediately preceding the application for admission at Shasta College. Read more at the: Financial Aid Appeals Page

This Special Alert from the California Student Aid Commission (Commission) notifies Financial Aid Administrators and High School Counselors that the parent signature option of the California Dream Act Application (CADAA) is not functioning properly when using the Mozilla Firefox browser.

1/17/2017 LOSS OF BOG- Spring-17 Alert
The evaluation for students who may have lost their BOG Fee Waiver eligibility for Spring-17 has been completed and accounts updated. If you have lost your BOG we encourage students to Appeal through Admissions. The appeal form can be found at: Loss of BOG Appeal Form.
1/10/2017: Pell Grant Disbursement 1/13/2017
In order for a student to receive a Pell Grant disbursement on 1/13/2017, the student must have had a Pell Grant on their award letter, registered in active classes and in good standing with SAP prior to 1/9/2017. The next possible disbursement will be 1/27/2017.
1/9/2017: Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) Fall-16 Alert
SAP calculations have been processed for all Fall 2016 grades. Notifications have been applied to students' accounts. If you have lost your Spring 2017 awards due to ineligibility please visit our SAP page to learn more on how to regain your eligibility.

The California State Chancellor's Office is spreading the word about the California State Income Credit that is available for working adults. For more information visit: www.CalEITC4Me.org or talk to your tax consultant when you file your taxes to see if you qualify.
12/7/16: 2017-18 FAFSA Processing Update
The Financial Aid Office will start processing 2017/18 FAFSA applications starting in January of 2018. Please continue to check your MyShasta Portal and email for updates. We encourage all students and parents to utilize the Data Retrieval tool within the FAFSA to streamline processing. If you have already submitted your FAFSA, you can go back in to your FAFSA use the Data Retrieval Tool and resubmit.
11/8/16: Possible SCAM - iTunes Cards
We have a report of a student being contacted by the "federal reserve" letting them know if they purchase an iTunes gift card they could be eligible for additional grants. The FAFSA is the state and federal application for student aid. FAFSA means "Free Application for Student Aid". Don't pay for free money!

3/15/16 - Attending Summer? Need Financial Aid?
If you plan to attend Summer 2016, you must:
-Complete the 2016-17 Bog Fee Waiver
-Register for Summer Classes
-Submit the 2015-16 FAFSA (if you do not have one on file with Shasta College)
-Submit a copy of your class schedule or registration to the Financial Aid Office in person or via
email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
We will process your file for summer eligibility and contact you by email.
2/19/16 -We've teamed up with ECMC!
We’ve teamed up with Solutions at ECMC to answer all of your student loan repayment
questions. Solutions is a service of the non-profit organization ECMC and is dedicated to
helping students manage educational loans. Their resources are available to you free of
charge. To contact a Solutions Student Loan Repayment Advisor, email or web chat, or call

10/12/15 - Have your circumstances changed?
We are now taking Unusual Circumstance Appeals. The unusual circumstance appeal will allow
us to re-evaluate your file using current information /income rather than 2014 information/
income. For more information on this process click "Appeal Forms" on our menu and scroll to
the bottom of the webpage.
New State Grant available to full-time Cal-Grant B eligible students!
The Full Time Student Success Grant (FTSSG) is a new state grant that will be awarded to all
students who are certified eligible for Cal-grant B by Shasta College.
The maximum award amount is $600.00 ($300. per semester). Keep an eye on your award
letter to see if you are eligible. The first disbursement of this grant will be early October 2015!
