REDDING, CA    Continuing the 2018-2019 season, the Shasta College Theatre is excited to announce auditions for our upcoming Spring ’19 production!

A sinister and zany comedy with a dark domestic drama at its heart, Fuddy Meers illustrates a world in which nothing is as it seems and hardly anyone can be understood. Amnesiac Claire is stolen from her bedroom and struggles to discover the secrets of her past—while contending with a pursuing husband, lisping brother, stroke-afflicted speech patterns, cryptic funhouse mirrors, and a foul-mouthed puppet! Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright David Lindsay-Abaire has crafted a play about pain, identity, miscommunication, and, ultimately, the courageous confrontation of a traumatic past.

Auditions for Fuddy Meers will be held in the Shasta College Theatre on December 4th and December 5th, 2018, at 6:00pm. Please meet in the theatre lobby with a prepared one-minute monologue. Production will begin in the spring of 2019, with performances in March. All in the community are encouraged to audition for this exciting domestic dramedy!

REDDING, CA   This October, Shasta College is excited to bring Aaron Sorkin’s fast-paced and witty historical drama, The Farnsworth Invention, to the stage! The play centers on the parallel stories of Philo Farnsworth, a self-trained farm boy turned scientist and inventor, and David Sarnoff, a Machiavellian visionary and founder of RCA and NBC, as the two race to create a new and radical form of mass communication—television! This alternately hilarious and touching story examines the lives of the two brilliant men and questions the ideals and motives of a generation of pioneering inventors in the early 20th century.

Auditions for The Farnsworth Invention will be on 8/28/18 and 8/29/18 in the theatre at Shasta College. Please prepare a one minute monologue and meet in the theatre lobby at 6pm.

Performance dates are October 12th, 13th, 18th, 19th and 20th at 7:00pm. There are two matinée performances on October 14th and 21st at 2pm. There will also be a special matinée offered for local middle and high school students on October 19th at 11am. All performances are at the Shasta College Theatre.

The production is directed by Dr. Gregory Thorson with David Fraser as the set designer, lighting by Tim Dye, costumes by Hilary Fahey, and hair and makeup by Matthew McDonald. For more information, call 530-242-7573.
