Directions to Tehama Campus
In Fall 2009, Shasta College celebrated the new Tehama Campus, a state-of-the-art facility boasting a centralized Student Services area, high-tech classrooms and computer labs, and its very own science lab to support the growing needs in environmental, forestry science, and other lab-based programs. Situated on a portion of the former Diamond Mill adjacent to the Sacramento River, the 40-acre site contains a five-acre pond, oak woodlands, and tremendous views.
The Tehama Campus uses a variety of instructional modes to deliver courses to the residents of Tehama County. Using traditional face-to-face instruction as well as the college’s extensive ITV network and expanding online system, you are able to take a class (or two or three) in just about anything. Some of the programs highlighted on the Tehama Campus include
- Forest Science and Technology Training
You have the opportunity to receive training and develop skills for a variety of career opportunities in either seasonal or permanent employment. Using the ITV network as well as on-site labs and field studies, students can become a part in the revitalization and management of our natural resources.
- Nurse Aide/Home Health Aide
In just 18 weeks, you’ll receive the necessary instruction and clinical experiences to perform in this high-demand career field. You’ll work with other health care professionals in a variety of settings and be well on your way to more advanced training in a rewarding profession. Feel good and help others feel good too.
- Administrative Office Assistant Certificate
In only two semesters, enhance your computer talents while understanding the importance of effective communications, office procedures, and records management. And while you are earning the certificate, pick up a class or two or ten from the Workplace Success Series. You’ll be glad you did.
- Business Administration
Whether you’re planning to work in the public or private sector, the Tehama Campus offers a broad range of courses to improve your employability. Human relations, marketing, business math and English, accounting…it’s all here.
- Early Childhood Education
The development of our children is influenced by the learning opportunities provided by those entrusted with their care. Focusing on training in preschools, childcare, and infant-toddler and school age care, the college curriculum provides the breadth and depth to a rewarding career.
The Tehama Campus offers a wide range of services to help you earn a degree, certificate, or simply take classes for personal or professional interest. In addition to regular orientations, assessments, and registration periods for the new student, Shasta College offers counseling (academic, personal, and career) services for the continuing students as well as
