Each year in May, the EOPS/CARE Prgram honors full-time students in good standing, who have completed 12 or more semester units with an overall semester GPA of at least 3.0 from the previous year. The awards event also include two students who will be selected by the scholarship committee as EOPS Student of the Year and CARE Student of the Year.

Certificates of Recognition

Students who are invited to the Academic Award Recognition Ceremony to receive their certifcate meet the following criteria: current program status is good standing and received a 3.0 or higher GPA with 12 academic units completed in that semester. If a student met these requirements both semesters, the highest GPA of the two semesters will be the one recognized.

| 3.5-3.99 = Excellence |
| 4.0 = Distinction |
| For example: |
| Jane Doe received: S10 = 3.429 GPA F10 = 3.6 GPA |
| Jane will be honored with a certificate of "Excellence" for Fall 10 semester |
Student of the Year Awards

Students who received a CUMULATIVE GPA of 3.2 or higher with 12 or more CUMULATIVE UNITS completed and who are in "GOOD" standing with the EOPS/CARE Program will be invited to apply for EOPS "Student of the Year" or CARE "Student of the Year" Scholarship Award.
