If a student relies on personal assistance that is specifically related to the academic requirements of a particular class, they may discuss the assignment of an instructional aide with their DSPS counselor or LD specialist. Instructional aides are not responsible for personal cares and hygiene such as feeding or transportation. Students are permitted to be accompanied at any time by a personal aide whom they have employed.
