Shasta College presents the award winning Metamorphoses. Directed by Robert Soffian, Mary Zimmerman's hauntingly beautiful adaptation of Ovidian myths...some familiar and some shimmer just on the borders of our ancestral memories. Straight from Broadway and dozens of theatre across the nation...Metamorphoses retells these ancient stories with pathos and humor. Images linger on the edges of thought and stir up fragments of half-remembered dreams. The play, performed around an on-stage pool, is both lustral and lustrous...Stories of King Midas, Orpheus, Aphrodite and others come to life before our eyes!
