Emissions Training
Shasta College offers the training to become a licensed smog technician. This includes the Basic Clean Air Car Course, Advanced Clean Air Car Course (the 20 hour course and the transition class) and the Update Training Courses. We use BAR-97 Technology including lab scopes and chassis dynamometers. We are recognized by the Bureau of Automotive Repair as a basic, advanced, and update training site.
The Basic Area Clean Air Car Course - AUTO 172 is offered as an evening class during the fall semester.
The Enhanced Area Clean Air Car Course - AUTO 173 will be not be offered until such time as there is enough interest to offer the class.
The 2009 Update Training Course will be offered several times during 2009 and 2010

Referee Center is located at Shasta College's Automotive Program in building 2400.
To Make an Appointment call the Scheduling Center at 1-800-622-7733 to schedule an appointment with a Consumer Assistance and Referee Center. An appropriate fee will be charged for Smog Check inspections or services performed at a Consumer Assistance and Referee Center.
