Below are links to various outside scholarship sites of which Shasta College Financial Aid has been made aware, and which we are posting for the benefit of our students. Please browse through the various links to determine the scholarships for which you may qualify. Please note that applications should be submitted directly to the scholarship organization. Do not submit these applications to Shasta College Financial Aid.

National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation

In 2008, the NRAEF Scholarships Program will award $1.7 million in scholarships to students pursuing an education in restaurant and foodservice-related studies. To see if you are eligible, please click on the link to the left.

CCCCO Real Estate Scholarship Program Various Applicant must be majoring in Real Estate, or if the college does not offer that major, in Business Administration with a concentration in Real Estate. Please see incividual scholarship eligibilty guidelines for complete requirements
Brita College FilterForGood Eco-Challenge 10/30/2009 The 2nd annual Brita College FilterForGood Eco-Challenge is back, asking college students to submit proposals outlining ways to make their campuses more sustainable. Students from universities across the country can submit a proposal for a chance to receive one of five $10,000 grants to develop programs to green their campus and community. Proposals will be accepted until October 30, 2009 and will be evaluated on creativity, environmental benefit, educational impact and best use of time and budget.

The Coalition for Humane Immigrant Rights of Los Angeles (CHIRLA) was founded in 1986.
CHIRLA is a regional immigrant rights organization with the mission to advance the human and
civil rights of immigrants and refugees, promote harmonious multi-ethnic and multi-racial
human relations, and empower immigrants and their allies to build a more just and humane
society.

CHIRLA is committed to developing leadership capacity and movement-building skills in
California’s immigrant youth because immigrant youth are the future leaders of the state of
California, as well as the nation itself.

CHIRLA will award two (2) $500 college education opportunity scholarships for the 2010
school year.

BrainTrack Business Scholarship 11/1/2009 A scholarship competition open to enrolled students who have completed at least one semester of credits in a business degree program and are currently pursuing a degree. Students must be enrolled in one or more relevant classes at the time of the entry deadline. Students may be in either a full-time or part-time program. They may also be enrolled in an on-campus and/or online program.

12/31/2009     The Foundation’s Undergraduate Transfer Scholarships, up to $30,000 annually, are awarded to the nation’s top two-year or community college students who have financial need. The selection process for these awards is rigorous and highly competitive, with approximately 50 scholarships awarded each year out of hundreds of nominees.
The Pauletta and Denzel Washington Family Gifted Scholars Program in Neuroscience 1/8/2010 The Department of Neurosurgery at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center is proud to support The Pauletta and Denzel Washington Family Gifted Scholars Program in Neuroscience. This outstanding educational opportunity is offered to eligible undergraduate, graduate and medical students pursuing training in the field of neuroscience.
2010 Fred Rogers Memorial Scholarship 1/15/2010 The Academy of Television Arts & Sciences Foundation, in association with Ernst & Young LLP, is offering three (3) scholarships in honor of Fred Rogers, the creator and long-time host of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood.

The scholarships are intended to support and encourage aspiring undergraduate and graduate students to pursue careers in children’s media and further the values and principles of Fred Rogers’ work.
Education-Portal Computer Science and Computer Engineering Academic Award 4/1/2010 $1,000 awarded to a student pursuing a degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering. Areas of study that will be considered include computer science, computer engineering, computer information systems, software engineering, database management, computer networking, computer programming and information technology management.
Education-Portal Criminal Justice and Law Enforcement Degrees — Undergraduate Academic Award 4/1/2010 A $500 award will be given to a student pursuing any associate or bachelor degree program emphasizing Criminal Justice or Law Enforcement. Areas of study that will be considered include Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Homeland Security, Sociology with Law/Criminal emphasis, Corrections, Computer Forensics, and Forensic Psychology among others.

 

Education-Portal Liberal Arts and General Studies Degrees — Undergraduate Academic Award

4/1/2010

A $500 award will be given to a student pursuing an associate or bachelor degree program emphasizing Liberal Arts, General Studies, or Humanities.

Education-Portal Architecture and Drafting Degrees — Undergraduate Academic Award 4/1/2010  A $500 award will be given to a student pursuing an associate or bachelor degree program emphasizing Architecture, Architectural Drafting or Design, and Architectural Engineering.
Education Portal Undergraduate Distance Learning Degrees — Academic Award 4/1/2010  $500 award will be given to a student pursuing a distance learning associate or bachelor degree program.
Abbott & Fenner Scholarship Program 6/19/10 Abbott & Fenner Business Consultants are pleased to be able to continue with our scholarship program for the 4th year. We will be awarding up to $1,000 to the winner(s) each year. Students will submit an essay on the topic that appears on the scholarship page of our web site.
Big Sun Athletic Scholarship 6/24/2010 The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible to apply for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in.
