The Shasta Symphony Fall Concert - November 1, 2009 at 3:15pm - Shasta College Theatre.
Commemorating the start of our 60th Concert Season, the concert celebrates the life of Derek Abraham, whose grandmother--Sally Streeter--is sponsoring the concert in his memory. Written specifically in Derek’s memory by Michael Djupstrom, the work, entitled “Puck,” will be played by the Shasta Symphony Strings and solo trumpeter Rick Leder. The concert will include music from Midsummer Night’s Dream by Felix Mendelssohn, and danced by the Redding City Ballet. The concert will finish with a celebration of the 200th Anniversary of Mendelssohn’s birth by playing his Italian Symphony. A reception follows in Rm. 633 sponsored by Dr. Noble and Sally Streeter.
