- Fines are charged for overdue materials to encourage their prompt return so they may be made available to other students and faculty. Fines begin accruing one day after the due date and continue, including weekends, holidays, and semester breaks, up to the maximum fine.
- All overdue fines must be paid before more material can be checked out. Patrons may check their fines or fees by going to "My Account" within the Library's Catalog search.
- All materials can be returned on time via book drops located on the east and west sides of the Library (LRC 200) building. They are accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The book drops are checked daily and material is credited accordingly.

The replacement cost as listed in the most current issue of Title Source 3 will be charged for lost or damaged materials. If the item is out of print, the average price for the current year will be charged. A $5.00 non-refundable processing fee will be charged. Other replacement costs are:

Circulating books may be renewed once if the patron's record is clear and no hold-request is pending on the item. Magazines, videos, and reserves may not be renewed. Some Interlibrary loans may be renewed, depending on policies of the lending institutions. Patrons may renew materials using the Library's Online Catalog, requested in person, or over the telephone.
Shasta College students and staff (only) may place an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request for books or articles not listed in our catalog. ILL requests may be made in person or by clicking on the Interlibrary Loan button from our Home Page. The Library does not charge for ILL; however, there may be a charge to the patron by the lending library. NOTE: While the College Library doesn't offer this service to our community patrons, it is provided through the Shasta Public Libraries.
The Shasta College Library is pleased to serve our community members with free library services. One may see what privileges are available, as a community member, by visiting the Community Services page.
