Influenza information and resources
The seasonal (regular flu, not H1N1) flu shot clinic originally scheduled for Oct. 6 at Shasta College has not been rescheduled as yet. The shot clinic depends upon the Public Health Department receiving seasonal flu vaccine, which has been delayed to allow for H1N1 vaccine development and shipping. The good news is seasonal flu peaks late January to early March, and you have flu immunity about 2 weeks after vaccination, so early January is not at all too late to get a seasonal flu shot. We still hope to have a vaccination clinic at the college, but it might not be until later in November. Watch this webpage for further information.
