To Request Materials Be Sent to an Extended Education Site or Downtown Campus

To qualify for this service, you must be currently enrolled in an Extended Education class. NOTE: Material can only be sent to the Tehama, Trinity, Intermountain, or HSUC sites.

Remember Library Policy: 5 holds and 5 book checkout limit per library user. No checkouts to persons who owe fines or have overdue materials.

To request an item:

  • Find the item in the Library Catalog.
  • Check the LOCATION listing for the item.
  • Materials with the location marked “STACKS, JUVENILE, PAPERBACKS, OVERSIZE, or VIDEO” may be requested for quick delivery to the Tehama, Trinity, Intermountain, or HSUC sites.
  • You may not request materials with the location REFERENCE, ONLINE, or most PCX's.  (These materials always remain within the Library Building or are online eBooks.)

When you need an item displaying a location of "CHECKED-OUT" use:
Place a Hold for a Checked Out Item
Expect a delay receiving these items since they are not currently in the library.

To continue placing the request:
  • Click the DETAILS button to the left of the title so that a detailed description of the item appears. If there are many volumes or copies, make sure the one you want is highlighted. The system will then remember this item when you place the request.
  • Click on “I Need Material” from the gray bar near the top of the screen.
  • Click on “EXTENDED ED MATERIAL REQUEST” option.
  • Type your User ID (barcode number on the back of your library card, without the spaces).
  • The system remembers the call number and item ID of the item you are requesting and places it in the appropriate field.
  • Click the “Send” button at lower left. The screen will display a message confirming that the request has been placed.

Once the material you need has been found, a Library message sent to you through the
"Review My Account" option will state that the material will be sent to your
Extended Education site (Tehama, Trinity, Intermountain) or HSUC Campus for you to pick up.

To check on the status of your request in the Library Catalog:
  • Wait several hours to allow for library staff to search for the material in the library.
  • Select “My Account” from the gray bar at the top or bottom of the screen.
  • Select “Review My Account.”
  • Type in your user ID (your barcode number). Enter your PIN# (birth month and day, e.g., Oct. 9 would be 1009).
  • Click on “Display User Information.”
  • Click the “Requests/Library Messages” link. Then click on "view."

You may renew a book (one time ONLY) that has no “HOLD” placed, as long as it is not overdue.
