Instructions to Bidders
Written, sealed bids for
the sale of District equipment will be accepted in the office of the Vice
President of Administrative Services, Shasta College, 11555 Old Oregon
Trail, Redding, California (or mailed to P.O. Box 496006, Redding, CA
96049) until 3 p.m. on Friday, May 7, 2004.
All bids must be on
proposal forms provided for that purpose and shall be exclusive of sales
tax. Applicable sales tax shall be added to the bid amount at the time of
the award, unless bidder submits a qualifying resale certificate. Bid forms
may be obtained in the office of the Vice President of Administrative
Services, Room 148, Shasta College, 11555 Old Oregon Trail, Redding,
California, or on the Shasta College web site (www3.shastacollege.edu/forsale/index.htm).
Proposals should be
submitted in a sealed envelope clearly marked, “SEALED BID NO. 04-2 –
SURPLUS EQUIPMENT”. All proposals must be signed with the name of the
individual or firm. Obligations assumed by such signature must be
fulfilled.
All bids for vehicles must
include a signed Vehicle Bid Slip and a signed Hold Harmless Agreement (both
included as part of the bid package). All bids for heavy equipment must
include the Hold Harmless Agreement.
The used equipment offered
for bid is sold “as is, where is, with all faults”. All warranties, whether
expressed or implied, including, but not limited to, warranties of
merchantability and warranties for a specific purpose, are disclaimed. The
successful bidder will have 10 days from notification of bid award to remove
the item(s) from the Shasta College premises unless otherwise agreed to by
Shasta College. Terms are cash upon delivery, FOB Shasta College.
The award will be made to
the bidder with the highest acceptable offer.
The Governing Board
reserves the right to reject any and all bids, to waive any irregularities
and be the sole judge of the suitability of the bids offered. The Governing
Board further reserves the right to make an award or reject all bids for a
period of 60 days after the bid opening.
