VEHICLE BID SLIP
Pursuant to Section 24007.5 of the California Code, the bidder is notified that for every vehicle purchase, a Certificate of Compliance is required to be obtained from a licensed motor vehicle pollution control device station, indicating that the vehicle is properly equipped with anti-smog devices, before the vehicle may be registered with the Department of Motor Vehicles.
Vehicles offered for sale may be marked, and will be sold, as “unregistered” vehicles. Repairs may be necessary to place these units in operating condition and/or in a condition in compliance with the Vehicle Code.
For vehicles sold as “unregistered,” the District will release the license plates and the certificates of registration and ownership directly to the Department of Motor Vehicles and will issue a Bill of Sale showing the vehicle identification, including the last issued license plate number.
Before such a vehicle may be re-registered, it will be necessary to make the repairs required to place the unit in compliance with the Vehicle Code, to secure a Certificate of Compliance, and other vehicle registration forms to show that the unit does, in fact, comply and to present such information to the Department of Motor Vehicles for registration.
I UNDERSTAND AND AGREE TO COMPLY WITH THE ABOVE
CONDITION.
