Concurrent Enrollment
Concurrent Enrollment students take college courses at any Shasta College campus in person or online and do not pay tuition for classes. Starting in the Spring 2024 term, Concurrently enrolled students do not pay Student Health and Campus fees.
Concurrent Enrollment: What to Expect
When to apply
Students may submit the Concurrent Enrollment Form when the schedule for the semester you are applying goes live. View important dates for upcoming semester(s) at Dates & Deadlines. The Concurrent Enrollment Form can be found by viewing the “Concurrent Enrollment Policy by Grade Level” section of this webpage. Processing times
Please allow 2-5 business days to process all completed forms. Completed forms are defined as forms that have been fully signed by the student, parent, principal and high school counselor (if applicable).
Importance of complete forms
Completed forms have accurate data entry and have been signed by the student, parent, principal and high school counselor (if applicable). Incomplete forms cannot be processed.
Unit Limit Per Semester
- Fall: High School Students may enroll in up to 11 units
- Spring: High School Students may enroll in up to 11 units
- Summer: High School Students may enroll in up to 7 units

Concurrent Enrollment Policy by Grade Level
Concurrent Enrollment Steps 11th & 12th Grade Students
Grade status is determined by the student's grade level on the day of registration.
- Consult with your parent or guardian and your high school counselor
- Apply to Shasta College through CCC Apply (you only need to apply once).
- Complete the Concurrent Enrollment Form (also located at the bottom of this webpage):

- Summer 2024 Concurrent Enrollment Form (Dynamic Forms)
- You will be asked to log in to the Shasta College Portal, and then you will be redirected to the electronic Concurrent Enrollment Form.
- Please read and complete this form carefully and check for any typos prior to signing.
- You will be asked to provide a name and e-mail address for your parent. (If you are over 18, you will not be asked to provide parent information).
- You will select the name of your high school from a drop down list. If your high school is not listed select “other (high school not listed).”
- Press “Click to Sign” to electronically sign this form.
- The form will now be routed to your parent's email, using the email address you provided on the application.
- Parent/Guardian: You will receive an email with a link to create a “Next Gen Dynamic Forms” account. Please check your spam folder if you have not received this email.
- Review the form and press “Click to Sign” if you approve the application.
- An email will be sent to the high school principal.
- Once the principal has approved the form, it is forwarded to a Shasta College staff member for final review.
- Student will receive an email that their form has been approved and processed and that you may now register for courses.
If the courses you wish to register for have prerequisites, please make an appointment with a Shasta College counselor for clearance into the course. A copy of your high school transcripts will be used for course placement at the time of your appointment.

Concurrent Enrollment Steps 9th & 10th Grade Students
Grade status is determined by the student's grade level on the day of registration. Students can still benefit from priority registration dates.
- Consult with your parent or guardian and your high school counselor
- Apply to Shasta College through CCC Apply (you only need to apply once).

- Students who wish to enroll in English 1A or in a class with English 1A as a prerequisite, will be required to submit a writing prompt (PDF), and a current high school transcript. A letter of recommendation is optional, but helpful. Students must have a cumulative high school grade point average of 3.5 or higher to qualify. Keep your essay!
Concurrent Enrollment Steps 8th Grade Students & Below
8th grade students are defined as any student who has not yet completed their first semester of 9th grade.
- Consult with your parent or guardian and your high school counselor

- Students who wish to enroll in English 1A or in a class with English 1A, as a prerequisite (e.g. Geography 8) will be required to submit a writing prompt (PDF), current transcript and a letter of recommendation. Keep a copy of your essay with you!
- Students in the 8th grade or below will typically not be eligible to enroll in transfer-level math. Those able to demonstrate superior skills should schedule an appointment with a Shasta College counselor for discussion and clearance.
