The Shasta College men’s soccer program has attracted some great local and not-so-local talent for the current 2013 season. There is no doubt that the Redding area can produce great soccer players that can compete at the collegiate level.  With local, returning players like B.J. Romac (Shasta High School) and Edgar Lupercio (Anderson High School), the Knights will have a core of local talent on their roster.

A few non-local players added to this year’s roster has sparked some interest and excitement to Knights men’s soccer program as well. Alvaro Medina, a native of Sparks, Nevada will be a positive addition to the team. He, along with three other players from Nevada, are making their mark on the soccer program.

Also making their mark on the roster are the brothers, Flavio and Fulvio Ferreira.  The Ferreira brothers have made the longest journey to attend Shasta College. They hail from São Paulo, Brazil. The brothers bring wonderful vision and an understanding of the game that has already rubbed off on the rest of the team.

The men’s soccer team will host San Uoaquin Delta College September 10th at 4:00 p.m. at the Shasta College soccer field and Butte College September 24th. Other game locations and times may be found on the Shasta College website.
