For anyone who had land or landscaping that experienced burn-related trauma due to the Carr Fire or other fires last year, the Shasta College Horticulture Club and the Shasta Master Gardeners are offering free plants to help with replanting. The plant giveaway is on Saturday, October 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the Shasta College Farm behind building 4500 in the nursery area.

Volunteers have started hundreds of plants and trees, including many native plants, as part of the ReGrow Shasta effort. These plants will be given away to help replant burn areas and Master Gardeners will be on-site to answer questions about erosion control, landscaping, and replanting. Assisting the Master Gardeners with this project will be the local chapter of the California Native Plant Society.

For more information please contact the Master Gardner Office at (530) 242-2219 or
