Job Description

If you are selected for an interview, you will be contacted directly by the Department. Positions may include day, evening, holiday and weekend shift work and require work in the sunlight and the elements.

Minimum age for any position is 16. All new employees will be subject to drug/alcohol screening, and if 18 or older, will be fingerprinted prior to beginning work. Required certifications must be submitted prior to employment.

The following positions will be filled from this job posting:

AQUATIC CENTER

Lifeguard (Recreation Specialist) $15.75-$18.23/hour

Swim Lesson Instructor (Recreation Instructor): $16.30-$24.08/hour

Water Sports and Fitness Instructor (Recreation Instructor): $16.30-$24.08/hour

Requirements

Lifeguard: Must possess or be willing to acquire First Aid and CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer, and Lifeguard Training certification from a recognized certifying agency; and the ability to interact effectively with the public and City employees.

Swim Lesson Instructor or Water Sports and Fitness Instructor: Must possess or be willing to acquire First Aid and CPR/AED Adult with CPR Child/Infant certification; must possess or have previously possessed WSI certificate; ability to instruct swim lessons according to American Red Cross standards -or- ability to instruct diving, synchronized swimming and other water fitness activities; and the ability to interact effectively with the public and City employees. Lifeguard Training and Title 22 certificates highly desirable.
