Job Description

HEAD COACH:

The Head Coach is a volunteer position that works with a team of coaches to facilitate the Girls on the Run curriculum to program participants. This position entails approximately five hours per week for a 10-week commitment.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Serve as a role model for program participants

Prepare, organize and supervise weekly lessons

Collaborate with other coaches for successful lesson delivery

Facilitate communication with parents/guardians of program participants

Attend the Girls on the Run 5K (After-School Programs)

Plan and coordinate your team’s end of season party (After-School Programs)

ASSISTANT COACH:

The Assistant Coach supports the Head Coach at a Girls on the Run program site while serving as a role model and mentor for program participants. The position entails approximately 2-4 hours per week for a 10-week commitment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as a role model for program participants

Assist with all aspects of the facilitation of weekly lessons

Collaborate with other coaches for successful lesson delivery

Participate in games and workouts with the girls

Attend the Girls on the Run 5K (After-School Program)

JUNIOR COACH:

The Junior Coach is a volunteer position for high school students to assist the Head and Assistant Coaches at a Girls on the Run program site.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Serve as a role model for program participants

Assist with setting up and breaking down of games and lessons

Provide one-on-one attention to program participants

Participate in games and workouts with the girls

Lead an activity with assistance and supervision of the Head Coach if desired

Attend the Girls on the Run 5K (After-School Program)

Requirements

HEAD COACH:

REQUIREMENTS

Head coach must be a woman

Must be at least 21 years old

CPR and First Aid certified

Must consent to and complete a background check

Attend Girls on the Run coach training (See FAQs below for dates)

Attend all practices

After-School Programs: 2X per week for 8 weeks (weekly time commitment of approximately 5 hours, total time commitment of 50 hours)

CAMP GOTR Program: 5X per week for ONE week (time commitment of approximately 25 hours)

ASSISTANT COACH:

REQUIREMENTS

Must be at least 18 years old

CPR and First Aid certified

Must consent to and complete a background check

Attend Girls on the Run coach training (see FAQs below for dates)

Attend practices

After-School Programs: 1 or 2X per week for 8 weeks (weekly time commitment of approximately 2.5-5 hours, total time commitment of 25-50 hours)

CAMP GOTR Program: 5X per week for ONE week (time commitment of approximately 25 hours)

JUNIOR COACH:

REQUIREMENTS

Junior Coach must be 14-18 years old

Must be a high school student

Attend Girls on the Run coach training (See FAQs below for dates)

Able to attend practices once or twice per week (for after-school program); all 5 days for CAMP GOTR
