Dear Shasta College Community,

On February 28, 2022, Governor Gavin Newsom made an announcement updating the health guidance for California. Beginning March 1, 2022, masks will no longer be required for unvaccinated individuals in most indoor settings. After March 11, 2022, individuals working at and attending K-12 schools and childcare facilities will no longer be required to wear a mask or face covering. You can read the full announcement from the Governor’s office here https://www.gov.ca.gov/2022/02/28/governors-newsom-brown-and-inslee-announce-updated-health-guidance/

According to the Governor’s announcement and the updated CDPH guidance, all Shasta College district locations will no longer require employees or students to wear masks. The District will also no longer require weekly testing of unvaccinated employees.

Employees are still required to report positive COVID-19 cases to the Emergency Operations Center at eoc@shastacollege.edu and follow the protocol for close contacts outlined in the CPP (https://scmainweb.s3.us-west-1.amazonaws.com/files/resources/covid-19-prevention-plan.pdf).

The District encourages those individuals who experience symptoms related to COVID-19 to stay home and get tested.

We want to thank everyone for their patience and perseverance during these many months.
