- Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI): The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) is widely applied in the career development field to help people toward more informed career decisions. This is an assessment of individual preferences, not a test of right or wrong answers, and it is fun! You will use this information to explore various careers that will be challenging and interesting to you. After taking the assessment, you will receive a computer-generated report with suggestions for occupations and academic majors for you to explore. If you are interested, contact the Career & Transfer Center in person, by phone at 242-7724 to schedule a counseling appointment. (Fee: $15)
- Strong Interest Inventory: The Strong Interest Inventory (SII) is a questionnaire that inquires about your level of interests in occupations, occupational activities, academic subjects, hobbies, leisure activities and types of people. Your answers are compared to the pattern of interests of people working in various occupations who are satisfied with their jobs and are doing well in them. You will receive a computer-generated report that will suggest occupations and academic majors for you to explore. If you are interested, contact the Career & Transfer Center in person, by phone at 242-7724 to schedule a counseling appointment. (Fee: $15)
- Workshops: Shasta College offers a number of free workshops to assist you with your success. There are workshops related to career exploration, note-taking, test taking, time management and more. You can choose to attend a workshop in person or online or a combination of both, as your interest and schedule permits.
- STU-90- Career Choice: A course designed for students who are undecided about their educational and/or career goals. Through a series of group exercises, and career development testing, students learn to identify personal values, interests, skills, aversions, and personality patterns and understand how they relate to choices in the world of work. Students learn to access occupational information, develop decision-making skills and set career goals.
