Dear Students,

Updates from VA pertaining to COVID-19 Spring 20 Reductions, Withdrawals, Cancellations:

VA will infer Mitigating Circumstances

  • Chapter 33 students will receive benefit payments until the end of the month the drop/withdrawal occurred.
  • All other chapters (30, 1606, 35) will earn pay up until the drop/withdrawal date.
  • Follow the instructions included in Grading Options & Excused Withdrawals to request an Excused Withdrawal
  • Submit the EW request by the end of the term/last day of the course
Effect of in-person courses moving to online modality:

Post 9-11 recipients will continue to receive the in-residence housing allowance rate for all courses converting to online modality through December 21, 2021.

Remedial courses converting to online modality are payable for VA benefits.

Update from the VA Debt Management Center (DMC)

We want our partners working with Veterans and their families to be aware that if COVID-19 is affecting someone’s ability to repay their debt with the DMC, they can reach out to the DMC to request assistance.  Please feel free to share this message widely within your organization.

Attention Veterans and Family members who have a VBA overpayment:

If you are affected by the COVID-19 (CORONA VIRUS), have a VBA benefit debt and need temporary financial relief, please contact DMC at 1-800-827-0648 to request assistance.
