Heather Wylie

Heather Wylie is a proud product of the North State, having been raised in the Redding area and graduating from Central Valley High School. After studying Cultural Anthropology and Women’s Studies at UC Santa Barbara and Sociology at UC Davis, she had the honor of returning home and joining Shasta College in 2006, first as a Sociology Professor and, beginning in the summer of 2026, as Dean of Science, Language Arts, and Math (SLAM).

One of the things Heather values most about SLAM is its creative and dedicated faculty, who bring a passion for teaching and a deep commitment to student success to everything they do. She is grateful to be part of a college that plays such an important role in the community and is excited to support the people and programs that make Shasta College such a special place.
