Jackson Richards
Student Trustee - Board Member
Jackson Richards is a current Shasta College student studying history and economics. He plans to earn his associates in history this spring and then transfer to a 4-year university to continue his education. Jackson is a Redding native and has lived here his entire life.
During high school, Jackson served as a student board member for both Shasta Union High School District and the Shasta County Office of Education. He currently serves on the Redding School District Board of Trustees as a full-governing member. Additionally, through the College Corps program he volunteers at Juniper Elementary.
Jackson is also an author, publishing his debut work, Why The World Slept: An Explanation of Social Media’s Influence on Democracy in 2023. He also published a poetry collection in spring of 2025.
During his free time, Jackson enjoys playing guitar, going for walks, reading, and spending time with family. He plans to potentially pursue careers in education, law, writing, and politics.
