Nina Mitchell
Student Services Coordinator
As a proud Shasta College alumna, Nina Mitchell understands firsthand that education has the power to transform lives. Since joining Shasta College in 2021, she has dedicated her career to helping students pursue their academic, personal, and professional goals. Her own journey—from student to staff member—continues to shape the way she approaches every interaction: with empathy, curiosity, and a genuine belief in the potential of every person she meets.
Throughout her time at Shasta College, Nina has served students through roles with the STEP-UP program, Adult Education, and now the #CaliforniansForAll College Corps program. As Student Services Coordinator within Shasta College's Economic & Workforce Development Division, she is passionate about creating meaningful opportunities while fostering a welcoming, supportive, and engaging experience for students. She believes that people often have strengths they may not yet recognize and that encouragement, opportunity, and genuine support can help those strengths flourish.
Nina earned her Associate of Science in Business Administration from Shasta College before completing her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Management at California State University, Chico. She is currently pursuing a master's degree focused on organizational leadership and business, along with a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certification, reflecting her commitment to lifelong learning and
continuous growth.
Outside of work, Nina enjoys traveling, exploring the outdoors, embracing new adventures, discovering extraordinarily spicy foods, and promoting animal welfare through rescue efforts. Whether working with students, caring for animals, or pursuing new experiences, she strives to leave people feeling encouraged, valued, and more confident than when they first met—believing that some of the greatest growth happens when people are given the opportunity and encouragement to discover strengths they may not yet see in themselves.
