REDDING, CA – The 55th annual Shasta College Horticulture Department Spring Plant Sale will be held Friday, April 3 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. and Saturday April 4 from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on the Shasta College campus at the College Farm. Thousands of plants will be available for purchase, including annuals for bedding and cut flowers, perennials, herbs, succulents, and a wide variety of vegetable starts. Trees, shrubs, California native plants, and houseplants will also be offered. Many of the plants are unusual or hard to find and have been carefully selected because they grow well in the Redding area. Students have also started a diverse selection of Certified Organic vegetable plants.
Visitors are invited to explore beautiful plant displays that showcase many of the varieties available at the sale. The event is organized and staffed by the Shasta College Horticulture Club, and all plants are sustainably grown by students. All proceeds will help support Shasta College’s Horticulture Program and student scholarships. Shasta Master Gardener, Native Plant Society members or Horticulture students or faculty will be available to answer any of your gardening questions.
The California Native Plant Society (CNPS) will also be on site selling a wide selection of California Native plants to raise funds for local student scholarships and restoration.
