The Shasta College Horticulture Department and the Shasta County Master Gardeners will hold a Fall Gardening workshop for local gardeners on September 20, from 1:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on the Shasta College Farm. Registration will start at 12:45 p.m. in room 4000. Pre-registration prior to the day of the event will not be available.
Workshop topics to include:
- How to set up irrigation
- How to prepare the soil and garden beds
- What to plant for fall/winter crops
- Fall gardening and season extension
- Growing herbs and other garden perennials
- Plant propagation techniques and container gardening.
Many sessions are hands on and designed to get participants ready for fall planting. Cost of the workshop is $5.00 to cover cost of materials.
