A student who has been dismissed from Shasta College because of academic or progress disqualification must meet with a counselor and then file a request for reinstatement with the Admissions and Records Office. If the student provides reasonable assurance that they are prepared to succeed, the reinstatement application will be approved under certain conditions listed on the reinstatement contract.

The deadline to submit a reinstatement application for a specified semester is available online under "academic calendar". A dismissed student may be reinstated after an absence of one or more fall or spring semesters.

Academic Dismissal: A student who was dismissed because of academic probation must earn satisfactory grades (a grade point average of 2.0 or better) during the semester of reinstatement. A student who does not earn the required grade point average will be dismissed.

Progress Dismissal: A student who was dismissed because of progress probation must satisfactorily complete more than 50% of all units attempted during the semester of reinstatement. A student who does not complete the required percentage of units will be dismissed.

Reinstatement
