I'm a Northern California native and have been working and living in the Redding area for over 7 years. Courses I teach at Shasta College include Introduction to Natural Resources, Native Plant ID, Wildlife Conservation and Management, Computer in Agricultural and Natural Resources, Environmental Law and Policy, Environmental Science, and Forest Ecology. I am also the adviser to the Natural Resources Club.

My previous job was working as an Environmental Scientist with VESTRA Resources, a local consulting firm, which required a combination of public policy, law, and science in assisting clients in natural resource industries with regulatory compliance. Prior to working at VESTRA, I was a laboratory technician, field crew leader, and master’s degree student in a biogeochemical science laboratory focused on mercury research at the University of Nevada, Reno. My master’s research focused on factors influencing mercury concentrations in reservoir fish. In addition to my Master of Science degree in Environmental Science and Health, I also holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science and Natural Resources from UNR. I worked for two years as a park naturalist as part of an AmeriCorps crew at Assateague State Park through the Maryland Conservation Corps.
