Shasta Portal for Students

If you have applied to the college through CCCApply, but have not yet enrolled, you will​ have an account in the Portal.  If you applied in person and NOT through CCCApply you will only​ receive a Portal account after you are officially enrolled in a section. 

If you have not attended since 2014, you need to reapply in order for your Portal account to be created. Reapply at: http://launch.cccmypath.org/mypath/171?authSource=OpenCCC

It will take up to 48 hours for the account to be created and for you to receive our welcome email.  


How do I log in to Shasta Portal

For everyone (students and faculty & staff)

The first time you log in to Shasta Portal you will work through a series of steps to setup your account.  Once you have performed the security steps, you will be directed to your Shasta Portal access area.   ​

To login you will need the following information:​

  • You must know your Shasta College Username (student format: j.smith19 - staff format: jsmith) - if you do not know your username, there is a link on the portal log in page to perform a lookup for you. It will email you the information. ​
  • You must know your Shasta College numeric Student ID (or EIN if you are staff) to continue, if you do not know your username, there is a link on the portal log in page to perform a lookup for you. It will email you the information. ​

You must have either a valid email address OR a mobile phone capable of receiving texts.


Getting Started

Go to: Shasta Portal

For existing Staff/Faculty users

Specifically for Staff/Faculty who have already logged into the Shasta College portal before and setup their account:​

  • Check the box noting that you are staff/faculty​
  • Type in your username and your password as you do to log into your computer while on campus - and click the LOG IN button.

Please Note: There is no need to type in shastacc\ before your username anymore.

For new users

New users are considered all users who are new to the college or have not logged into the Portal before or have not logged in for over a year.

  • Select the Create an Account button at the bottom left of the Shasta Portal login page.​
  • Type in your Username (if you are Staff/Faculty, please check the box)​ and select the Continue button.​
  • You will be prompted to type in three mandated questions, your date of birth in a 6 digit format (MMDDYY), your Last Name, and your numeric 7 digit Student ID (or EIN). ​
  • Once validated you will be asked to set up your password for your account. Type in your new password, must be include at least 6 characters and 1 number, select CONTINUE​
  • You will then be asked to choose and set 3 challenge questions for your account. Select CONTINUE and then select the link to continue logging in.​
  • You will be asked to link your mobile phone to your account for password resets via text and a one-time passcode (OTP) will be sent via text to you to enter on the next screen. We recommend that our users utilize the mobile phone functionality as it is the quickest method to reset passwords. If you do not want to use this feature, select the box to Permanently Suppress Reminders. Select the CONTINUE button.​
  • If applicable, enter your one-time passcode you received via text and select CONTINUE and then select the link to continue logging in.​
  • You will be asked to enter a valid email address - keep in mind that you must be able to access the email account you list here as it will be sending a code to you. Select the CONTINUE button.​
  • If applicable, enter your one-time passcode you received via email and select CONTINUE and then select the link to continue logging in.​
  • You will then be directed to your Shasta College Portal access page, you can always update your challenge questions and change your password by selecting the Manage Account Settings link.

Resetting Password

To perform a password reset through the online system you will need the following information:​

  • You must know your Shasta College Username (student format: j.smith19 - staff format: jsmith) - if you do not know your username, there is a link on the portal log in page to perform a lookup for you.  It will email you the information. ​
  • You must know your Shasta College numeric Student ID (or EIN if you are staff) to continue, if you do not know your username, there is a link on the Shasta Portal login page to perform a lookup for you. It will email you the information. ​

Go to: Shasta Portal

Select the I don’t know my password button – select the link on this menu to get to the password reset area.​

  • Type in your Username (if you are Staff/Faculty, please check the box) and select the Continue button​.
  • You will select one of the options presented to you, select Reset Forgotten Password.​
  • Select the Continue button​.
  • Choose one of the options presented:
    • Answer your 3 Challenge Questions OR
    • Have a One-Time Password (OTP) sent to your cell phone or email address associated with your account. ​
  • Select the Continue button and your choices will be presented to you to complete the reset function and set up your new password.​

If you encounter any issues with performing the password reset, ​please submit a help desk ticket.

Please Note: The self service password reset will only work if you have successfully set up your account with your challenge questions, and/or recovery communication methods (i.e. cell phone and email address).
