Do I have to buy a permit to park at Shasta College?
A vehicle must be registered for a permit if you park in any parking spaces on the Main or Tehama Campuses Monday through Thursday, between 8:00 am and 11:00 pm, or 8:00 am to 5:00 pm on Fridays. For information on how to obtain a permit, please see the Permit section.
Do I have to buy a permit if I drive a moped or motorcycle to school?
Yes, Mopeds and motorcycles may park in designated motorcycles parking areas or a regular parking space when you register your vehicle.
If I own more than one car, do I have to buy more than one permit?
You may register up to two (2) license plates under the same permit. Only one of those vehicles is allowed on campus each day. Some exceptions may apply. See Permit section for more information.
Where can visitors park?
Visitors may park in designated visitor parking areas for 30 minutes free of charge or pay to park in the student parking lots.
I am handicapped and I have a valid DMV Handicap placard. Do I have to buy a permit if I am a student or employee of Shasta College?
No. Vehicles displaying valid DMV Handicap placards or license plates may park on the Shasta College campus without registering the vehicle or paying to park.
I have a leg cast from an accident right now. Can I park in handicapped parking?
You may obtain a temporary handicap placard from DMV which will allow you to park in handicapped parking. Contact the DMV office to determine what is required to obtain the placard.
If I want to contest a citation I received, can I communicate with someone on campus?
Students and staff may appeal a citation through the Parking Portal, accessible via the Shasta College Portal or by scanning the QR code listed on their citation.

My vehicle will not start and I think my battery is dead. Will someone help me?

Can I get a refund on my permit if my educational plans change?
The semester parking registration fee is refundable (less a 10% handling fee) within the first three weeks of each semester during regular business hours at the Business Services.
