I hope you are off to a great start to the spring semester. As of last week, enrollments are looking strong- >+5%. Enormous thank you to all faculty and staff for offering these opportunities for our students!
As an interim president, I am aware of the responsibility that comes with this role. As we canvas the entire higher education network to find our permanent president, I am committed to upholding the mission that has made Shasta College the regional leader that we have become. The cabinet team and I will work earnestly to remain a college where we celebrate supporting and working with our various constituency groups, remaining a place where innovation thrives, and putting students in the middle of what we do and how we think.
If you feel like getting out of the rain this weekend, come and join me on Saturday where our women's and men's basketball teams take on the College of the Redwoods starting at 1:00pm. Both teams are an awesome blend of local talent and out of the area students experiencing living in Redding for the first time. Let's get that gym rocking for those student athletes and our faculty coaches.
