For Current Students

The Testing Center (Redding Main Campus | Room 2215) can accommodate make-up testing, including students taking courses at Tehama, Trinity, and Eastern Shasta County, as well as for students taking classes at our Health Sciences and University Center. Make-up testing is offered by appointment only.

This proctoring service is intended to accommodate individual students who need to make up exams due to school related or excused conflicts. Examples include student-athletes who miss an exam due to an athletic contest, students required to serve jury duty, students attending a college-sponsored field trip, or students who are experiencing a personal emergency.

Make-up Exam Process – New in Spring 2026

If a student needs to makeup a test either on the Redding campus or at an Extended Education site, we request that they please schedule their appointment at least three (3) business days in advance by calling the Testing Center at (530) 242-7751 during business hours.

To request a make-up exam, please complete the following steps:

1. Access the Makeup Exam Form
   • Make Up Exam Form
   • The form is also available in your Shasta Portal in Dynamic Forms.
2. Complete Part 1 of the Form
   • Enter your instructor’s information accurately. Incorrect details will result in your request being rejected.
3. Submit the Form
   • After submission, your request will be routed to your instructor for review.
4. Instructor Review
   • If disapproved: Your instructor will provide a reason. You must submit a new request that addresses their feedback.
   • If approved: Your request will be forwarded to the Testing Center.
5. Testing Center Review
   • If your requested date or time is unavailable, the Testing Center will contact you to reschedule.
   • Once approved, you will receive an automated confirmation email.

PACE students should continue scheduling exams through the PACE portal.

Please remember that all testing requests need to be scheduled at least three (3) business days prior for regular exams and (5) business days in advance for midterms and final exams.

The Testing Center can also accommodate students who are in PACE (Partners in Access to College Education for students with disabilities) by offering test facilitation. 

Examples of test facilitation include:  proctoring of exams, use of scribes, exams in audio format, extended test time, enlargement of exams, exams in braille, use of readers, special lighting, use of a word processor, or the need for a reduced distraction environment.

While most tests are usually given in our Testing Center lab/office in Building 2200, Room 2215, some may continue to be facilitated in PACE. PACE services and testing accommodations are also available for students in Tehama, Trinity, and Eastern Shasta County, as well as for students taking classes at our Health Sciences and University Center. Students taking an exam at an extended education site should note which campus they attend when scheduling their exam. Testing Center staff will reach out to the student to confirm the time, date, and location of the exam/quiz.

Please remember that all testing requests need to be scheduled at least three (3) business days prior for regular exams and five (5) business days for midterms and final exams.

Students taking audio exams should request a test time as early as possible to ensure conversion of a test to audio by the requested test time. Testing schedules should be on your class syllabus. Please make sure to plan ahead.
